into the void

I haven't left my apartment
for two whole days and nights
the world awaits me out there
the thought gives me a fright
I could stay in here forever
with my cat, tv and food
but the longer I avoid the world
the less I have a mood
I could waste a day with nothing
but plans of what to do
but when the day has passed me by
Ive still done nothing new
I could almost stop existing
with no proof that I was here
like Howard Hughes without the dough
just slowly disappear

I like the line ....
"like Howard Hughes without the dough" !!
Dandy said:
Thanx Mark.
p.s. Send dough!
Love, Howie.
Kim said:
Oh, how I know
not about the dough,
But intimately the passage of time.
How easy to hide from the big, bad outside
Until the force of strange guilt takes over,
making me quiver and shiver
like I was being made to eat liver
So, I resign and head out for a ride.
Dandy said:
I'd do more than quiver,
if made to eat liver.
One chew and I'd spew,
all over the giver!

BRAVO!
Such prose I can't top
So now I must stop

this is great its like a big poetry chain
one step better would be to give it a name
in my opinion it would only be fair
to give it a name that would be very clear
to give credit to the one who started this craze
it could go on for many more days
you know what i think, this is better than candy
wasn't it kind of obvious i would call it dandy

I'm happy to see that all of my faves are here (time machine, gimme gimme gimme, dead head).

Keep up the good work, young man.

Why thank you, old boy!
And congrats on being the first visitor to The Best of Dandy's All Time Greatest Hits Revisited!

A lovely idea to showcase your collection!

And really, what more do you need besides cat, tv, and food?

Thanks Barb. Too true, if only rent and food would pay for them selves. haha
I also, hope that by going over my older writing, I may get back in the creative swing of things as the Rod Serling wanna be that I am.

Jim, I'm looking forward to snuggling into the overstuffed couch with Lily curled up next to me--snow blowing in off the water, hot soup on the stove, and reading the archives of what sounds like The Best of Dandy!

Enjoy the flurries,
Kim
